Our jewellery is made to order in Germany from genuine silver. Sterling silver means that 925 thousandths (92.5%) are pure silver and the remainder is copper. The copper is added to increase the hardness and durability and this is necessary as 100% pure silver is extremely soft.
Storage
We recommend you to remove your jewellery when you shower and sleep, to avoid unnecessary wear and tear.
Keep your jewellery in a jewellery box, cotton bag or something similar when it is not being used. If you leave your jewellery out, it will gradually lose its shine and quickly become darker.
Cleaning
Clean your jewellery with a toothbrush and liquid detergent or with polish you purchase from your jeweller. Never use standard silver polish that can be purchased in food stores, as it contains polishing agents that will damage your jewellery.
Discoloration
Silver is oxidised by the oxygen in the air and becomes darker with time. Silver also reacts with perspiration and the chemicals that are secreted by the skin when people take certain medicines. There are individuals who cannot wear silver jewellery as it quickly becomes completely black. If you are a member of this small group of people, you are probably already aware of this. Your silver jewellery will be like new if you clean it with the polish that is available from all jewellers.
